THE SECOND LAST MEETING

the second last meeting

THE SECOND LAST MEETING

I see the bed;
Half White, Half red,

I see this life;
As laughing at yours and
Mine,

I see myself in you;
Always

And it’s true,
As I am from you;
So I call you my dad,

And you call me your son;

I cry when I remember this word called, dad
Because the last time when I said to you, it was eight years back,
And today I still cry and have an
Urge to call you dad at least once,
With you respond to me as ‘yes son!!’

As I remember the bed again;

That chance which I got to see you
For the second last time in my life,
I hardly said anything that day,
But hardly I knew that in our last meeting
You will be asleep
And I would be left crying for over you and for ever

  3. thanks for reading. hope you like my other posts too

  4. Losing someone who is responsible for bringing you to this world. That feeling alone tends to run shivers down your spine. It’s description is ineffable.
    What you wrote here, Its not just a piece of poetry but much beyond that. It clearly reflects the love and affection in its best form. I hope your sweet Dad is smiling at you from above for he sure is a proud and content father, he has you after all reciprocating anything and everything he needs. God bless. 🙂

    1. Thanks for reading it, and i have no words how to express my thank you as you have said few things which definitely made me feel proud no doubt. Thanks for that. 🙂

  5. Beautifully written …

    1. Thanks … cheers

  6. beautifully expressed emotions!!

    1. Thanks , this one is something on which i can’t even comment a thank you, not because i am arrogant, but this one so close to my heart, that even if you give it just a read you are close to my heart . 🙂

  7. Very touching, I can relate this to my own experience and know how hard it must be to express these feelings and you did it so well. Blessings to you.

    1. Thanks for giving it a read, and actually it took a lot, while writing this, as this was the most difficult part for me to express my feelings for my father.

  8. Knowing your dad and being thankful for that knowing even though the parting was painful is something i wish for. Not knowing is an emotion i do not wish on any other but grateful for him being my father and briging me into the world is all i have and consider myself blessed. Beautifully expressed. Thank you. Love and blessings David

  14. Thank you for sharing this poem Sahil and for visiting poemsandponderings. Losing someone as close as a parent is very difficult indeed especially at such a young age. It almost always leaves us with a feeling of incompletion and regret. Yet we must go on, and take something positive from the situation. Through us, their legacy continues.

    1. Actually the last line totally syncs with my thoughts what is always left of their is the legacy, which no matter always is with us. I try to do something because i wish somewhere my name is totally linked to my father and henceforth my work will make my father known or proud one day if he had been alive.
